“We came, we raved, we loved.” These are the words from popular EDM group Swedish House Mafia’s website, following news that the trio, made up of House DJ’s Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso, will be going their separate ways. This comes just days after the announcement of the EDM band Pendulum’s disbanding, making for a sad, sad week in music.
Swedish House Mafia, which formed just 4 years ago in ’08, have set the stage for EDM to go as mainstream as it has in the past couple of years. They have created countless house anthems, and have rocked clubs and festivals from Miami to Ibiza. Rumors floating around the Internet point to a breakdown in the relationships between group members and their managers, but there is little comnfirm that this is true at this point. In a short statement on their website, the group wrote: “…We want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.” Their last tour date will be in Sweden (appropriately), and will take place on November 24, 2012. The rest of the tour dates are TBA.

SHM will sorely be missed, but seeing as all three have toured successfully as independent DJ’s, this probably won’t be the last we hear from the three guys. In the meantime though, we’ll have plenty of music to rage our faces to while we wait for a final verdict.
