Kendrick Lamar/ Young Jeezy – “Westside, Right On Time”

New flows! New floooows! That’s right, Kendrick Lamar and Young Jeezy go tandem on this track to absolutely destroy it from the ground up on “Westside, Right On Time.” The Canei Finch produced track features a soulful sample laced on top of a booming bassline, reminiscent of Rich Boy in “Throw Some D’s”. This literally might be my new favorite new song, but I say that every time a new Kendrick Lamar song drops. Fuck it, let us know what you think of the track, and check out “Westside, Right On Time” above.
A$AP Rocky - “Purple Kisses”
A$AP has somehow found some time to write new music between all of the touring and legal issues of the past few months, which means that this is his second new song of the last few weeks. (Remember Pussy, Money, Weed from last week?) This one too has a video treatment, which I think makes up for the lackluster quality of the production on this one. I mean I love me some chill stoner music, but I need some trace of a rhythm, Rocky. The way he comes in on the second verse is ill though, which makes this another classic Rocky song – whether I want to deal with it or not. We’ll let you all judge. Check the video above.
T.I. - “Go Get It”
This is a joint that I heard the other day that made me do a double take a little bit. I won’t say that I am T.I.‘s no. 1 fan, but I do appreciate when this ATL native goes hard for the South. Not only is T.I. out of prison, but he’s back in the game and proving that he didn’t lose anything while he was away. This is a theme that he seems to want to drive home in the video, between the scenes of him eating at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles and then feasting round-table wit h his compadres. All in all I’m really feeling this new T.I.P., and if he has lost the crown at all, he firmly instructs us that he’s going to “G-O-G-E-T-I-T” Check out his new track above.
DJ Khaled ft. Kanye West/ Rick Ross - “I Wish You Would/Therflu”
You guys might remember the latter half of this video from a little while ago on the site, and now Kanye West is back and proving that e is still the H.N.I.C. He’s teamed up with DJ Khaled and Rick Rozay for this new banger called “Wish You Would”. Kanye is attempting to bring the autotune back with this one, but seeing honestly with this much bass on a song you can’t really hate. The DJ Khaled beat absolutely rumbles, and the Hype Williams directed video just takes it to that next level. Yeezy is definitely on some other shit. Check out “Wish You Would/Way Too Cold” above.
Hit-Boy/ Kid Cudi - “Old School Caddy”
Cudderrr. Kid Cudi is back with his fellow G.O.O.D. Music pal/producer Hit-Boy for their new track “Old School Caddy.” This one has a real nice sound to it, which is no doubt since it was produced by Hit-Boy, who also goes in on his two verses before Cudi. Then Kid Cudi comes on and rips it like proper, giving us a refreshing verse, to show us that he is still relevant in the game. (Be on the look out for his new album, coming soon.) The video is also the epitome of fresh, as Hit-Boy and Kid Cudi whip around the desert in a Mercedes SLS and on oldschool Cadillac Deville. Check out the video for “Old School Caddy” above.
