Skrillex x Damian Marley – “Make It Bun Dem”
The first feature this week is probably the biggest WTF collabo since Kaskade and Waka Flocka. This time, Skrillex and Damian Marley (Welcome To Jamrock) have teamed up for this newest banger called “Make It Bun Dem”. And when I say banger, I mean this one goes in. Skrillex employs a much more tolerable riff on this one, for a refined dubstep feel, while Damian “Jr. Gong” goes ham on the chores between drops – making this an insanely good mashup. Add to that a video – which is absolutely stunning – about a type of Ancient American voodoo…it’s literally too much suspense. Peep the video, and let us know what you think below.
A$AP Mob x Flatbush ZOMBiES – “Bath Salt”
I guess the recent craze of inhaling bath salts in the South has reach New York, because not the A$AP Mob have decided to dedicate a musical homage the phenomenon. Going with the whole theme of “human zombies” that is associated with the substance, A$AP have teamed up with the Flatbush ZOMBiES for this thriller of a music video. Although the video is kind of freaky, this song gets better to me with each listen, and A$AP’s verse at the end is well worth the wait. Check it out, and let us know what you think below.
Big Sean – “RWT”
After the release of his Detroit last week, Big Sean has been on the grind dropping music videos from the album. This one is for “RWT”, short for “Roll Weed Time.” With a title like this, you know Big Sean is going in, and he doesn’t disappoint. This vid is hilarious as well – watch Sean literally set fire to the game, and make it rain on some grizzlies. I wish I could make more of this shit up. Kirko Bangz x French Montana – “Walk On Green”
BANGZ. Up-and comer Kirko Bangz has been proving himself a lot lately, with features from the likes of 2 Chainz and Juelz Santana, to being featured on Ace Hood‘s newest mixtape. (More Ace Hood below.) Now he is back with his first single since the radio-slayed “Drank In My Cup”, and it’s actually not half bad. This one is called “Walk On Green”, and is actually not about a football player who didn’t make the team, but just making a lot of green. French Montana helps him to hammer this point home by doing what he does best – rapping about slangin’ cocaine. However, the two are slowly starting to grow on me as emerging rap artists, and I can dig a catchy tune every now and then. Personally feeling this one, so check it out and let me know for yourself.
Ace Hood – “Leggo”
Finally, we have Mr. Hood to close out our Monday. With his newest mixtape Body Bags: Vol. 2 out about a month ago, this is the song “Leggo” from the same tape. While the video doesn’t offer much by way of creativity (bitches, booze, and booty), this was one of my favorite songs from the album. Ace Hood is silently killing the game right now, so if you’re sleeping, wake the f*ck up. Florida stand up! Ace Hood!
