This has been a big week in music, with the BET Awards happening in Los Angeles last night, and manly hotly awaited albums ready for release soon. Let’s Ride Around and Get It: it’s this week’s addition of Music Mondays.

You all may remember the aud of this song from not too long ago, and now we have the video as well! This song, “Round My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)” is from Lupe Fiasco’s upcoming album Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album. This video is absolutely Dope. Being one of my favorite artists (if not the best lyricist in the game) I was beginning to fear that Lupe’s relevance would begin to fall off in today’s saturated rap genre. However, he manages to combine all three of his favorite things: comicbook references, bling bling jewelry, and conscious lyrics into one music video. I don’t know how he does it. Definitely be on the lookout for that Great American Rap Album this September.
Following the release of Self Made: Vol. 2 last week, MMG and crew have been hard on the grind ever since. After a video release for “Black Magic” between Meek Mill and Rick Rozay last week, we now have visuals for the song “Actin’ Up” from the Self Made album as well. This song features Wale and French Montana, and the video is pretty much what you would expect. But there is just something about hi-definition cameras that makes everything so appealing these days. Check out the video for “Actin’ Up” above.

After winning BET Award for Best New Artist last night, Big Sean has been on a roll: deciding to collaborate with Swag favorite Mac Miller for their new song “Hundred Dollar Bill Skyscraper”. Great title, and seeing as Big Sean has the unique ability to make a hook on anything, it plays through well, too. Mac’s delivery is a little lackluster on his verse, but the track is great nonetheless. Check out “Hundred Dollar Bill Skyscraper” above.

This is a DJ Flex Premier of this song, but it was so fire that we had to feature it, tags and all. This is the song “Pop That” by French Montana, featuring Rick Ross, Drake and Lil’ Wayne. French Montana has been getting on some hot joints lately, and this one doesn’t disappoint with 4 of some of the hottest MC’s in the game. Really, there’s not much more to say. Hopefully we will have the untagged version of this song soon. Check out “Pop That” above.
Last up, we have Stalley, with what to me was one of the best songs off his American Dream mixtape. This one is the video for “Hell’s Angels (American Heathens)”, featuring none other than, “Rozaaaay!”. This really is a great song – Stalley has one line that goes: “Strapped up like bamboo/Talons and hollows my ammo….learned that from B.I. – don’t keep too many in my ride/Learned that from T.I. and stay away from them P.I.’s…” DAMN. Stalley goes in. Period. Check out “Hell’s Angels” above.
